Alumacraft draft

What is the approximate distance from the waterline (while stationary in the water) to the bottom of the skeg for a Dominator 175 walk-thru with the 150 hp outboard? :?:

I would guess that this would be a variable depending how your boat is loaded. You might want to put your boat in the water and make a note or even a mark where the water line is. Then when your boat is on the trailer, you can make a measurement. Also, if you have sonar, make a measurement from the transponder to the bottom of the skeg on the motor. That will tell you exactly how shallow you can go before churning up the mud.

Thanks for the response. The Alumacraft Dominator is still on my wish list. On my current boat, it measures 22" from the waterline to the bottom of the skeg. With newer boats having a wider beam, I was wondering if it would make a difference. The water level varies day to day. We have a few 18" deep (usually less... maybe even 12") areas to get through before we get to the big water. We turn off the big engine trim it up out of the water and use the electric trolling motor most of the time to get out. Adding a kicker would put that much more weight on the back.
Boat load is usually just me and a tackle box.
