Hi, Everyone!

We filmed this week’s show on Golden Lake in South Central Wisconsin. A friend told me about Golden a long time ago and I finally made it.  I was lucky to get take a day off during the week; we had the place to ourselves. Most of the day was cloudy and windy, so the normal, summertime tactics did not work for me.

Any time you get wind and clouds, you can usually find a way to catch fish. I tied on a lipless crankbait and had a blast. I caught several in the three to four pound range. I can’t wait to get back to Golden again during normal, sunny weather.  I bet that there is a tremendous topwater bite when the conditions are right.

This week has been very busy in Spring Valley. It is the 24^th annual MWC Walleye Tournament.  This is the longest running tournament in the country. The bite has been tremendous. You can catch the weigh-ins this Saturday and Sunday at Barto Landing in Spring Valley. Make sure that you stop in Time on the Water Outdoors for the fishing reports.
